Merry Christmas From All Of Us

I think that the older you get, the more you realize what's important. What day you celebrate on or where you celebrate is not what's so important. What is truly important is who you celebrate with. Being with family is what's important. And when family members can't be with you, they are really missed. We had many who couldn't be with us this year and we missed each and every one of you. Some were sick, some had to work, and some are off serving their country. Aaron is away on a mission and Tasha and Kylie are celebrating alone in Nebraska. Jason is at Cherry Point and couldn't come home. Myron was in Austria, soon to be back in Italy and then off to Iraq. We thought about you, and talked about you, and are praying for you!! We love you and miss you, and we all want to wish you a Very Merry Christmas!!

One Coming and One Going!

Jason returned to the good ole U.S.A. on Sunday evening and Aaron left the good ole U.S.A. on Monday evening. Not a very good tradeoff! I want both of my boys on safe soil! Somehow, the U.S. Military doesn't ask my opinion on that one!

He's Here!!

Words cannot describe how good it was too see him come of that bus and know that he made it home safe and sound!!
God is so good!!
He's still the same old Jason!!
Rob gave him a hand with his stuff. Do ya think he missed his car?
Nahhh.....

Waiting on Jason, and waiting and waiting...

Seth, Rob & Trish Dad
The hotline said they would be arriving at 3 p.m. So, we got there just a few minutes before 3 because it said it would take them about an hour to get to the buidling from the flightline. And then they announced it would be 4. Then 4:30. Then 5. They finally arrived at 5:45.

We're at Atlantic Beach

This is not the best picture. I snapped it with my camera phone and it was almost dark. It was a beautiful sunset, though. We made it to Havelock and went and walked in the surf at Atlantic Beach. Jace should be here tomorrow evening. Can't wait to see him!

Middle School Jackets Beat the Bobcats

Before the Game

Seth on the Kickoff Return Team Seth scooped up the ball and ran for about 30 yards.

Seth on defense (far right). He came across the field and tackled the Bobcat with the ball and caused him to fumble. Alan fell on the ball and recovered it for the Jackets. I was too busy watching to snap a picture of that. But trust me, it was good!

Final score, Jackets 24, Bobcats 16. The Jackets start off their season with a win. They only won one game the whole season last year and it was against the Tigers.

Seth after the game, rather proud of himself! Mom sure was proud of him too!

Another Poem

On This Road
Many things have happened,
upon the road of life.
Lots of joys and laughter,
some heartaches and some strife.
But all along this journey,
one thing's been tried and true;
God has walked beside me,
in everything I do.
When troubles come along the way
and times have gotten tough,
He whispers peace so sweet to me,
and that is just enough
To give me strength I need today,
and with His precious grace
The trials ahead are not so bad,
that I can't bravely face.
I know that He is with me,
each step that I must take,
With loving arms around me,
His love will not forsake.
I thank Him for the many things,
the great, and yes, the small
And with a very grateful heart,
I praise Him for them all!

Dad on Strike

Dad's company is on strike and he's been having to "walk" the picket line. Notice he is the only one sitting down, with a walkie talkie no less. Claims they put him in charge of communications. Go figure!

At least he's standing up with a sign in this one!

Inspiration

I was reading a poem that Rachel had written on her blog, www.gimh.blogspot.com , and it inspired me to write one of my own. It's been a long, long time since I have written anything. I used to write all the time, but then, Life Happened. God blessed me with six wonderful kids and they have been taking up my time for the past 25 years. And now He has blessed me with 5 wonderful grandkids, which I'm sure will take up my time for the next 25 years! I am truly blessed! Anyways, here's my poem:
Six Little Ones
I used to have six little ones,
All running 'round my feet
They'd laugh and cry, and yelp and yell,
'Twas really quite a treat!
But then I blinked and don't you know
They've all grown up so fast!
What used to be my future
Has now become my past.
With children near and children far
And way across the sea,
This mother's heart is full of prayer
For those that God can keep.
For Safe within His mighty arms,
I know that they will stay.
For He's a gracious, loving Lord,
Who hears me when I pray!
And though I fret and worry some,
Down deep within my heart
There is a still small voice that says,
"My peace I will impart.
You can safely trust in me
For what shall come your way.
I've never left you in the past
Nor will I leave today."
And so I lean upon His arm,
And go from day to day
Trusting in the Blessed One,
All along my way.
And all the little ones
That ran around me feet,
Have now grown up, and given me
Five Grandkids, oh so sweet!

Malachi Got A New Tractor

Malachi and John Deere greene??????
Nope, it's New Holland blue!!

Pushing the woods back. He looks like he knows what he's doing.

Looks like he picked up a hitchhiker.

There he goes, the boy with his expensive toy!

But, hey, I got my field bush hogged.

So keep playing, Malachi. I still need my driveway fixed.

Mamaw & Papaw and the Great Grandkids

It's hard getting all five great grandkids to co-operate for a picture!

Mamaw used to think she'd never have any grandkids, since Charlie was 27 when we got married. Now, she has 6 grandkids, a grandson-in-law, 2 granddaughter-in-laws and 5 great grandkids!! Boy, did we fool her!

Mamaw & Papaw with Kylie and Owen, the two youngest great grandkids.
